What a day we have had - all rather dull really for the average onlooker, but for us, we have been busy doing nothing. Started off by awakening with a hangover - taking the dogs to the common at the back of the house is always a good way of blowing the cobwebs away. The dogs love it there - there are hundreds of gorse bushes where rabbits live and hide, and our two love to catch them. I always carry a priest to kill the rabbits with me, and a bag to put the bunnies in. The rabbits have now been skinned and gutted, and are hanging in the back kitchen before we cook the rabbits in a lovely red wine sauce, and we will have them with mashed neeps later. You really can't beat food that is this fresh - happily hopping around the field this afternoon, and will be eaten this evening. Happy days

Neeps are a Scottish term to describe Parsnips and turnips, or should it be parsneeps and turneeps!

@destry Oh, that's cute. 'Parsneeps' and 'turneeps' would mostly be used just in soups here I think. Not too many have them mashed as a separate dish.

I love rabbit meat. They're sweet and taste better than cow meat. Some people wouldn't eat them as they view rabbits as pets or similar to cats. Well cats are cats, rabbits are rabbits. As long as I don't have to prepare them, I have no problem eating them.
