Losing Matriarchs

It's a rough morning for a couple of my friends. One lost his grandmother and the other lost her mother. My heart breaks for their sadness but sings with joy because they were gifted with such magnificent women in their lives.
My own mother died in 2011 and I still miss her every moment of every day. She was my dearest friend, my best teacher, my best playmate, my best travel companion, and a very real person who did the best she could and didn't beat herself up if things weren't perfect.
My friends' mother and grandmother were both loving, kind, good women. It's hard to lose someone like that. The thing is to always remember that as long as they're in your heart, they're never truly gone.

@VirginiaLee Yes,such people live in the heart of those who love them .They are alive through the memories of those who love them.

I am sorry to hear that. Those are really tough moments! I am currently watching a video series about cancer. Some interviewees shared about they lost their parents because of cancer, including the host. It's really sad to see that. But, as you said, they will always in our heart.
