Just been to choose our sheep! We have chosen three - two white and one black sheep. They will be dropped off to us tomorrow! We are mega excited, and the Mrs is busy choosing names for them! These will be the first sheep that we have ever owned, so it will be a learning curve, how exciting!

That's a different project. I presume that if you are giving them names you are not intending to eat them.

@destry I don't think I could do that, I suspect that if I went into a slaughter house I would turn vegetarian. As a kid I ate rabbit stew but as an adult who is fond of rabbits that would be a no go area for me now.

@41CombedaleRoad We have the theory that if we arn't prepared to do the deed ourselves - we won't eat it. I would rather know that the animals in question have had happy lives, are free from any additives / chemicals and are 100% organic and free range. . . . . . One of the main reasons we moved to a homestead!

Only will be eating their lambs - for a few years anyway - and then eat them!

That's great. I'm glad that you guys were able to chose a few sheep. It's good that they will be dropped pretty quickly.

We bought them off a neighbour / friend, as he is taking the rest to market tomorow - he will drop ours off on the way.

This is great. Are they tame or not really? Any photos to come later?
