Most plants give out carbon dioxide in the night and are therefore not recommended for planting indoors. But there are some that do just the opposite. Chlorophytum (spider plant) is one such which can be kept inside one's bedroom. It is also said that it is a sleep inducer. This link below has a list of plants that are recommended for indoor planting. These plants give out oxygen in the night.
These 10 plants for your bedroom that can dramatically improve your health, induce better sleep and detox the air.

I did not know that many plants should not be indoors. I did know that there are many that are good to have indoors to clear the air. I do not know any specific ones off the top of my head so I should look at your link to get a refresher.

It is so nice to just have the plants in the house for any reason. Happy they can clean the air we breathe and help us sleep too.

I never realized that some plants actually produced carbon dioxide. I thought oxygen from plants was produced anytime day or night. I wonder how they've determined it's only at night that it takes place? Maybe the other kinds of plants aren't readily available in our part of the country? I found this post on the sidebar while reading another post about watering plants.

I have no idea either. Perhaps it is their research that has made them come to this conclusion.

That's useful information. It is helpful to give us what to plant indoor.

I never heard of plants not being good to grow in the house. All my life I have had so many plants growing in my house and never had a problem so I am surprised at this post. I know some people do not have the right environment to grow plants inside but I did. I had 4 ficus trees that were over 5 feet tall plus many other large plants.

I've never heard of a plant that gave off carbon dioxide, most give off oxygen and are healthy unless you have allergies
