Last night, I messaged a friend to ask what her schedule was like for this week. I asked if we could get together one day and she suggested today! So we made a date to get together. Took me forever to fall asleep but I was up at 9:30 and got ready. She arrived at 11am and suggested we head out for brunch. Over coffee and some great food, we got all caught up on her family and my family and fun things we've been doing to keep ourselves out of the depression that tries to pull us both down all too often. She is currently waiting to find out about a job teaching special needs teens and she's the perfect person for that job! She's so loving and patient, so my fingers are all crossed for her. When we were done eating, she graciously asked if I wanted a ride down the street to the YMCA to see about joining. So we did! I asked a million questions and then I signed up! All I have to do now is secure rides back and forth and I'll be back in business. I'm so excited about this! As often as I have the yearning and a ride, I'll be able to go. For right now I'm excited to be using the pool for exercises, but later I'd love to talk to someone about yoga. My librarian said that her mother takes yoga classes at the Y and it's given her a lot more mobility and strength in her legs. This has been a wonderful Monday and, needless to say, I'm in a great mood! Hope you're all doing well with whatever you've been doing! Claudia

That's great. I remember when I was younger both my grandparents utelized the pool at the Y for swimming and it helped their mobility a lot.

Glad you had a good Monday and got to hang out with a friend. I love days like that when you can catch up with friends. I'm thinking about going to the local gym to work out and finding a partner to do it with me. We don't have a ymca in my town that's like an hour away from here.

Working out with a friend is a great way to go. I wish I had someone to go with me, but since I don't, I have to really push myself to get things done. And you know what? When I do, I get a real sense of accomplishment because I've done it on my own. I hope you find someone to go with you! You can push each other to do better each time around!

That's terrific! I have a DVD of Beginners Yoga, and it does an AM and PM workout. It has helped my fibromyalgia in the past.

That's nice that you had such a pleasant time with this person and it seems to be leading to really good things too.

I always feel so uplifted after spending time with her. She's a great person and I've known her since she was a teenager. Nice to see the woman she's become and how our friendship has grown!

We're doing well here, glad you are excited about the YMCA. Ours has a beautiful pool and all kinds of equipment. My insurance would pay for me but not for my better half so we haven't joined. We have a nice workout room here in the complex and two swimming pools so we really don't need it. I know you will love working out and the pool

I do love the pool. I did my physical therapy there and it was so helpful to me that I'm glad I can go on my own now. I just need to make sure I'll have rides there and back. You are so blessed to have a workout room and pools at your complex. We don't have anything like that here.

I know that I will love it there. I've had my physical therapy there and once that ended, I missed it immediately!
