My beautiful, smart, and sweet niece is in second grade. She just turned eight years old. Imagine that you could write a letter to your younger self. What words of wisdom or advice would you offer?

I would say use the bible more as a source of guidance in your daily life and you won't get lost.

Have you heard the song, "Dear Younger Me" by Mercy Me? It's a great song. I think I would tell my younger self to grow up and don't act so stupid.

@1creekgirl Yes, it is a great song. I would tell myself the same thing. I think we all do foolish things when we are young.

I'm afraid that will have to remain my secret for now - maybe forever. It's funny, though, that you should ask. I just read a novel, In Twenty Years by Allison Scotch, in which a group of college housemates each writes a letter to their older selves they will be in twenty years. The book has a message, but I don't particularly recommend it. It's too hedonistic for my taste. Perhaps I just don't want to believe most college students really behave this way today, though I know some probably do. The book was free to borrow for Amazon Prime members.

@bagarad Interesting. I'd like to think most college students are not as depicted in most books and movies. After all, authors do take their fair share of creative license.

@MandaLee They do. But then we can expect to see lots of stories this week on what they do while on Easter break. We also see stories about how they squash the opportunity for anyone to disagree with their political correctness on campus. I know it's not all of them, but many professors encourage this behavior and even lead it. I would hate to be back on campus today.

Tell them to do their own thing and not to follow others that are doing bad things.

I would tell to my younger me "listen to your Daddy, what he says is true, we are not different from the previous generations".

@MandaLee When we are young, we think all the time that it will be different for us, but it's always the same kind of life and always the same problems.

Different things at different times. Most of all, I'd tell myself to finish college. It would make so much difference.
