As we age, it cannot be denied that our strength and vitality is not the way it used to be, like when we were younger. A lot of people i know take food supplements or multi vitamins. I do take vitamin C. Well, sometimes. But my question is, which one is the best? Well, at least in your own opinion. Curious, do you personally take any multivitamins, or food supplements? Which is it?

I don't like multivitamins because the daily requirement isn't followed. So I take 2 500 mg of vitamin C, 800 IU of vitamin E , two gels of fish oil , 1300 mg of Calcium with magnesium and zinc and 2 tablets of vitamins B1, 6, 12. I didn't get sick for many years and my mind was sharp. Unfortunately, with the activities before and after our being a Ruby jubilarian last May 7th Alumni Homecoming, i got sick a week after that. It was pneumonia for the 3rd time after many years. I have to get my pneumonia vaccine soon.

@Yadah04 I am a lot better. Although, yesterday when I had myself checked the doctor said I still have "halak" on my chest when she checked me up. So she said I should go back next week If I feel so okay already. She told me to have the vaccine shot once I am already so okay.

Wow, lots of vitamins you are taking there. I wonder though, won't you get ovedosed? Well. Obviously not, since you haven't been sick for many years. How are you now? Get that vaccine then.

I don't take any at the moment. I find it really hard to swallow tablets so that puts me off. I used to take glucosamine but I don't really know if it helped or not.

@Yadah04 That's a good reason to take it then. I don't have much arthritis yet but it's starting in my fingers.

My mom in law is taking glucosamine. She tells me it is helping her alleviate the pain her arthritis is causing her.

I've already drank my calamansi juice this afternoon so that's already vitamin C for me.

I see you go all natural there. Calamansi is very cheap nowadays. But do you take it pure? I mean, like no water and sugar?

Our doctors told us that we do not need supplements, we get enough of what we need from the fresh food, fruits and vegetables we eat. My husband need vitamin D supplement, not over the counter, he needs a prescription for it.

The problem however is that we, or i, for that matter, fail to eat all the necessary vitamins that the body need. I am curious though about the needed vitamin d of your hubby.

@Yadah04 He stays inside most of the time, you need to stay outside in the sun to fix the Vitamin D, this is why he needs a supplement.

Good for you. Taking vitamins just gets a big chunk on the budget sometimes. It pays to be healthy, so my hubby and i spends on vitamins. I do not know, i just feel i am not healthy enough.
