Major League - My Favorite Game

Do you remember your favorite childhood game? I do. It's called Major League, and I live about three blocks from one, so I just walked up and played six games. I scored 17 runs during one, and came close to hitting my first ever home run. Major League is a vintage 1963 pinball-style pitch and bat game that some of you of a certain age might remember. While playing, you pitch a pinball to yourself, which you then hit with a pinball-flipper bat. Lining the outfield fence are "out," "single," "double," and "triple" options, as well as a ramp from which to launch home runs. The scoreboard also has 3-D baserunners. All very high tech for 1963. The game was made by Williams, which manufactured several pitch and bat baseball games, some of which sell for decent amounts on the Internet. I lost my mind the first time I played this as a kid. Now, here I am in my 50's, and nothing has changed. I really need to hit that elusive home run before I die. (Photo by me)

I'm happy - it looks like you've found a place to play it

Oh, we used to come play it back in the 80's. It was here long before that.

@FayeHazel - We saw New Model Army in Denver. The place had, like, 50 pinball machines in the back.

I think it's pretty fun, but played them a lot more when I was a kid.

@teamfreak16 I've been thinking about it and can't say I've seen any pinball for long while

I am horrible at these sort of pinball games. :) I hope you get the exclusive home run one day!

Sounds like it was awesome. I missed the pinball era for the most part. My sister once had a pool table in her basement and sometimes I would play when I went and visited her, but never got all of the enjoyment out of it that you did. When I was a kid I would walk down to the corner store (we called it the cow store because there was a picture of a cow on the sign) and played Galaga.

They have Galaga down the street, too. I play it every so often.

On some of these, you can even throw yourself curve balls.
