A Childish Sermon

Happy Easter! Christ supposedly said, "Suffer the little Children to come unto me, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." Meaning that a person be like a child who in their childlike simplicity and humility accept Christ through faith alone. "Childlike" does not mean childish which is an indication of immaturity. I read an article(2014) where Manila archbishop (now Cardinal) Tagle express dismay when he ask his parishioners a hypothetical question, "What is more important, the mass or $30 million?" and the audience choose the huge amount of money. Really? For $30 million, many Christians including priests will sell their "soul" to the "Devil". Sermons are an integral part of the mass. It's suppose to deliver the word of God to the faithful. Preaching is one of the most effective ways in bringing about changes in people and winning them to the faith. It should be responsive to the times, instructive and practical. Don't treat your "flock" like mindless zombies For church goers, how would you rate the sermons of your priest or pastor? Are they inspiring or do you despair and can't wait for the mass to be over. @louievill _Some priests really know how to deliver a homily. Others are just plain boring and nonsensical causing church goers to fall asleep.

I think that the Vatican and their bankers have chosen the money many (MANY) years ago. This is sad, but it's true.

@josie_ We have a saying in Italy concerning the Preachers, Cardinals and Church in general "DO what we command, but not what WE DO".

@LadyDuck _There is a lot of moral hypocrisy when you compare what the church preaches and what they actually practice.

@chrissbergstrom _They should take a page out of the "Transformers" robots then. Instead of liturgical garments, can you imagine a dress up autobot Bumblebee on the pulpit? Children (who are the best subject to indoctrinate) would be urging their parents to attend mass.
