My daughter was recently diagnosed for primary Koch’s infection. She had suffered cough for more than 2 weeks. The Doctor said it was just an allergy so I just bought the medicine that he prescribed. She finished the 7 day treatment but she still have cough, and this time, she’s having fever. We went back to her Doctor and finally, he instructed us to her my daughter do the XRAY. We got the result after 24 hours and to my surprise, the findings was Koch’s infection. As a mother, of course I didn’t easily believe it and I would like to go for a 2nd opinion. The Doctor told us that she might have been exposed to people who have tuberculosis. He advised my daughter to complete the 6 month treatment. My daughter is just 17 months old. I’m just afraid that her small body might not strong enough to absorb the treatment. Has any of you experienced this?

It's a very common disease for children who are exposed to the public at a very young age. My son had that when he was about the same age as your daughter and he survived it. All of my nephews and nieces had the same. Usually they get it from the elderly. Ours got it from relatives who would come to visit our home and see our babies. You have nothing to worry about. I just wondered how your doctor wasn't able to detect that on your first checkup. It's mandatory for pediatricians to check the neck for lymph nodes when a baby is coughing because that infection is very common.

That's relief! Thank you! The Doctor was actually checking her neck for lymph nodes but i guess he didn't find any. My friend also told me that it is a common nowadays but as a mother, you cannot easily believe it.

@junmae It's normal to worry as a mother. When I got pregnant I got tons of books to read to get rid of my worries. The more I know about things, the less I worry.
