Friends, Fun, Fish and a New Car

I had an unusual and fantastic day today. I crossed off all I intended to do - Call Spectrum and buy a new car. I don't have any pictures of it yet, but just a reminder what the old one looked like. So today is the old view, tomorrow I will post the new one.
My friend from Writer's Guild invited me out for a fish fry with her best friend from Texas, who had to come this way to attend a funeral for her uncle tomorrow. We had a wonderful time. Now mind you, I don't go to bars on a regular or even semi regular basis. I can count on one hand how many times I've been in a bar since my Navy days. However, that's where the fish fry was and the food was excellent. I ended up bringing home a box. No way am I going to let that go to waste. I had no idea what I wanted to order, so I ordered the seafood platter - minus the frog legs, marble rye bread, and coleslaw, added potato salad and a pickle and I was in heaven. The seafood platter had perch, bluegill, shrimp, scallops, walleye, and cod. There was also an order of portobello mushroom poppers. I had never had them before. If I see them on a menu again, they will be on my plate. They are out of this world delicious.
So that has been my day. I will tell you all about my new car along with a picture of it tomorrow. I went straight to the fish fry after buying it, so no camera and too dark now to get a picture. I also got $200 trade for the car, so I got a great deal on this car. More about that tomorrow.
I also got my copy of Stowaway in the mail today, which made me very happy. I now have copies of all three of my published books. I start work on Freedom's Cry again next week. I really haven't had any time to give it more than a thought this week. So next week I'll start fresh on it and start the editing process. My new friend from Texas also bought a copy of Scarred from me, making me a very happy camper today with all the wonderful things that happened.

That is so funny. It will be hard for us to compare the new car with the old one unless you would like to cover it with snow for us!

Sounds like you had a fun day! Good for you. Day just started for me. Only 10:35am here in Manila, Saturday morning so not much is happening at work.
Later in the day, I will go to the gym to train and in the evening, I'll be having my ESL classes.

The fish fry sounds like a lot of fun.
One thing about eating at a pub is that you usually get huge portions of food for really good prices.
We actually went out for fish and chips last night too--it must have been Fish Friday!
I'm looking forward to reading all about the new car, nice that you got something for the old one, it definitely helps sweeten the deal.
