Prison Documentaries

I watch a lot of random stuff, and lately what has popped up on my YouTube recommendations is now Prison Documentaries. One of my favorite genres to read is Prison Literature, People who have written their experiences while in prison or just novels they wrote while in prison. It is so cool, so interesting. I have watched two things about women in prison, my favorite part of one of them was talking about how inmates get to shop and a lady likes to buy a bunch of soda and she sells it and she is decked out in jewelry meaning she is "rich" in prison and she goes, "Ever seen an old lady in prison with a rolex?" Others are from the show Lockdown talking about the Toughest prisons. And they are pretty tough! Goodness. It is super interesting because there is more than just what we see in movies. We think that people just get to walk around, gross lunches, and the cells are very plain. But some cells have posters, there are a lot of artists. and it is really interesting what these inmates do with their time. It shows a light to the monster under the bed, some of these people just had a bad luck of the draw, some do deserve to be in there, and some go back because they are afraid to come back to the real world.

With so much time in their hands and nowhere to go, doing arts and crafts is one way to relieve the monotony and reduce the stress of being coop inside prison.

Very true. People have learned so much, it is better than just staying in there and knowing you cannot leave for a long time. Might as well pick up a book or something haha
