What kind of passenger are you on long trips?

I love taking long car trips. I always like to drive but my husband can not ride with me driving. I have a heavy foot and sometimes go to fast.
When I am a passenger on long trips with my husband driving, I have my pillow that I use for a desk and bring lots of magazines that I get every month but never read them at home.
I also have a case of water behind the driver seat as well as some food that is easy to reach and not messy to eat in a car.
I also do a lot of texting to my friends.

When we go on long trips I fall asleep. I cannot stay awake in a vehicle for long. Lol. My husband doesn't like it but I can't help it. I don't drive so he's the driver always.

@Courtlynn I only trust family when it comes to driving. My husband is an excellent driver-thank God! I couldn't have married him if he wasn't. Lol

It's been a long time since I was a passenger on a long trip. In January 2015 my brother took a bus to Chicago then drove me home because I broke my right ankle. Then I was rather quiet (I keep having flashbacks of falling and my ankle breaking).
I've taken shorter trips to practice for golf tournaments with my putting coach. We talk a lot (usually about music).

@ramapo17 -- it was ice and snow. I'm a southerner: can't drive in winter weather, can't walk in it either!

I tend to read ebooks on my Kindle app on my phone or tablet instead of bringing books and/or magazines with me (which take up precious vehicle space). This includes digital magazines that I get from the library.
I also take a lot of pictures during the drive and upload them to Facebook and Instagram.

@spiderdust That is a good idea. Usually when I have a doctors appointment I will bring some there and leave them on the table in the waiting room.

@ramapo17 I hate throwing them out too. I often donate mine to a thrift store in town. They sell them for 10 cents to a quarter each.

I'm very patient as long as I'm not the driver.

I hate being a passenger and usually drive when going anywhere. Sounds like you have a good plan in place while taking a long car ride

We do although when my daughter and I made the trip a few times we drove right through but we shared the driving.

when i am a passenger, i keep quiet, i can also nod. when i drive, if possible, i want my passengers no to talk to me, because the tendency is my mind will be answering them and i might not focus more on driving.

I am not a big fan of long car trips but they can be fun sometimes

@chrissbergstrom I love car trips. I would like to fly up north as we would get there sooner but with the suitcase restrictions and all the stuff I want to bring, I would rather go by car. I bring a lot of stuff home too. This time I am bringing some plants back as we cannot get them down here.
