Fault in our Stars

I Just Saw the movie "The Fault in our stars". After reading the book i was quiet enthusiastic about the movie but I realized that the novel was more heart touching. Is it me or the novel has more impact on the emotion. If yes, can you please name the novel which has more impact than movie.

I don't like sad stories so I didn't read the novel or watch the movie but I remember everyone went crazy for the movie

yeah the novel is awesome. movie was good too but I felt it can be better.
