Have You Ever Had Hives?

Have you ever had hives? The itching? Swelling? The red bumps all over your body? I am having an allergic reaction to something and I have hives. This is the first time in my life I've ever had them and they are terrible! I've got them on my fingers, toes, in my hair...... they are everywhere! I can't figure out what this could be from! I haven't changed meds in the last two weeks, Laundry detergent was changed over a week ago so I don't think it's that, I did wear a pair of shorts that I haven't worn in a year yesterday so maybe it's that! I also had a new flavor liquor in my drink last night (I always drink malibu but this one was malibu peaches & cream) I have a drs apt at 11am EST and I am praying that they can figure out what it's from si i never have to deal with this again!

I have Dermatographic urticaria so my skin is always broke out in hives, welts, and red blotches and I am always itchy. It is also known as skin writing. They don't really know what causes it but I have had it since birth. Some people get it while they are pregnant and then it goes away or they just randomly get it and doctors don't know why. If I even rub my leg or arm my skin will turn red and gets really hot. Even if someone else just grabs my arm and squeezes a little their hand print will show up on my arm. I get asked all the time if those are hickeys on my neck because my hair, necklace, or a shirt that I am wearing will rub my neck and cause blotches. Even if I place my hand on my neck or face it happens and even though I'm itchy if I scratch it only itches more and welts up and gets really red and hot. I am sorry you are having a reaction to something. I hope you figure out what it is.

Yes, I had hives but I do not know what I got it from. I woke up all freaked out! But they went away.

I'm sorry you have hives! That sounds awful. I hope the doctor can figure out what caused it so you can avoid it next time. Feel better!

I am sorry this happened to you. My son who is grown now had them very bad and no one no doctor knew why or how to help him. To this day it was the start of his skin problems and still now answer. I hope they can help you if you go to doctor. It is usually an allergic reaction or toxin.

I had them once and that was enough - it was caused by nerves. I was told they would go away in six weeks and they went away one day short of six weeks.
