I have sometimes wondered, DO THEY TELL postal carriers NOT TO TALK TO the locals? In my opinion, they are always talking to themselves, VIA CELL PHONE BLU TOOTH on their constant jibber jabber mobiles. Back in the day, it used to be a common thing to ask the postman DO YOU WANT A SODA ON THIS HOT SUMMER AFTERNOON? My father became friends with the local postman. It turned out that he was a poet and often spent a few minutes talking about the old days to my dad, who was retired at the time and he never met a stranger. These days, I don't ever talk to the postman or post woman, when they are doing their rounds, unless I am out working in the yard and they speak to me first. It seems like a good idea seeing as every day we get a different MAIL MAN because we are on a practice or TRAINING route. If you see your mail carrier dude or lady, and they are taking the time to deliver your packages or BILLS it is always a good thing to at least thank them for their efforts.
Postal workers from around the country reveal the secrets of their profession and why mail is still the country's best bargain.

If I see them, I exchange some words with them. But I don't often see them. We live on the second floor (third floor in the USA) and the letter boxes are just behind the entrance from the street. We usually only meet if I have to sign something

I find most of them pretty friendly even when I have to sign for a registered letter at the door. I don't go out of my way to step outside and greet them, but if I happen to see one coming and the weather is nasty I will step out to get the mail quickly to keep them from having to walk up the steps and save them some extra time to be on their way.

Not a fan of postal workers. Too many issues over their service and snotty attitudes.
