I am NOT her Mommy

Room mate got word yesterday that a relative is coming through our town today. She'd like to meet room mate for lunch. Fine.
We live about 12 miles out of town. One car. Bottom line: must get hubby to work on time in the morning. Second bottom line: Leah pup has to make her doc appointment.
So since I am not her Mommy, I dropped Room mate off at Safeway so that she could sit in their deli seating area, waiting for the library to open at 9. Hubby did give her the phone number for a cab company. The library is near Safeway- IF you are young and healthy and capable of walking about 4 long blocks, up a hill and across a wide street and did not wear a long black sweater on an 80 degree day.
Once she gets to the library the relative is supposed to get there anywhere from 11 am to 1 pm. And best case scenario, gets her back to our house.
Yup. Like I said, I am not her Mommy. She needs to do this thing then go for it.

@TiarasOceanView One of the librarians likes to hang out at Safeway. She ended up giving room mate a ride to the library.

@TiarasOceanView Great question. This is what I discussed with hubby. He gave her the phone number for the cab company and said he'd pay for it. Not sure what she did.

How long is this roomy going to live with you? I would give her 'walking papers' already!

@AbbyGreenhill I don't have an answer to that. She needs to get her neck looked at and then possible surgery and now has nodes on her thyroid.

@AbbyGreenhill If we move to Oregon, she will have to go to the YWCA.

Hopefully all goes well with her visit and the relative brings her back, but you are right you are not her mommy so it's not really your responsibility.

Nice that she can handle herself, and no need to worry as they drop her near the house

Seems to me, her relative should have come to pick her up but that is just me!! But hopefully, it went well since it is now in the past.

Those kinds of situations are always a bit fraught it seems to me.
