Obnoxious neighbor takes cut on my tree

I can see that many people post everyday rants here, so I will do exactly the same. My neighbor for some reason decided to take a cut of my tree. Tree is nowhere to her side of a fence and the branches are tall enough to provide shade on both ends without influencing space under them. Now, what was going on in her head, I don't know! If she only explained her case it would be much easier to talk about better solution.

If this is your tree, the neighbor doesn't have the right to cut it down.

@breine I think you can file a complaint. Is that possible?

One of a kind neighbor you got there. I hope at least she cleaned after cutting it. If she needs more sunlight, tell her to go out instead of touching sometimes property.

If the branches extend into her garden, I think she's entitled to cut them but it would be polite to discuss it with you first. We have a neighbour whose house doesn't open onto our road but his trees shed leaves and annoying squishy crab apples all over our driveways. BUT my husband still asks before he chops down the overhanging bits.

Tree doesn't cover her part. There is a patch between gardens, it doesn't belong to her, but the branches make shade to her part and she thinks I am somehow putting her under the shade in purpose.

@atoz1to10 This is not the first time she is doing something nasty. Last time she tossed her dog's poop over on my lawn.

Very odd and funny behaviour on the part of your neighbour. You better tackle her before she does more harm.

I don't know what the laws are in your state but in some it is against the law.

I once had a neighbor whose silly palm tree on his side of the fence shaded one of the only places I had to plant a vegetable garden. I would have loved to have cut it down, but I knew it wasn't right.

This sounds like a war happening soon. I would take drastic action if that would happen to me. I had crazy neighbors in the past.

Can you sue this woman for invading your private space? and even cut your tree? is there an environmental agency that you can go to complain what she did for the tree.

It's a great shame that she didn't talk to you about the tree first.

@breine Is that your neighbor in the picture? Terrifying indeed! Now on a serious note, perhaps the birds sitting on it were disturbing her sleep in the early mornings. I wonder!!!

That was uncalled for. She had no right to cut down the tree.

If the branches do not extend in her garden, but only make shade, she had not at all the right to cut those branches.

Why would your neighbor do that? Its illegal to just cut someone's tree. Its trespassing too.
