Change the law

May 6, 2017 10:34pm CST
Non American citizens that are married to an American citizen are not allowed to get passports, or fly to an other country with the children without the signiture from the father. I think that needs to be changed. What if a woman and kids get abused and have no one in the US to stay with. These woman stay with their punisher because they don't know where to go. I think that needs to be changed.

It's the same in most European countries, some women from low income countries get married to have citizenship and then they go back to their countries "kidnapping" the kids.

@Germaoney It has to be judged by a Court first. Some women had instructed their young children to lie only in order to quit their husbands and bring their kids with them. Life is not always clean and easy.

I understand but the most woman don't even get that far because of fear. I say yes that kids get used it's wrong. But I mentioned that if it was reported to the police, pictures are made of broken furniture and bruises.

Yes that is true but if you can proof the abuse like it was reported than you should have the opportunity to do so

Especially an abusive partner.it should have some exceptions

The mothers can leave but have to leave the kids behind. What mother would do that. Especially if the father is abusive. So she stays. The police doesn't do anything until something horrible happens. Than it is to late.

@Germaoney that's the problem with the systems that are supposed to protect innocent people, they wait until something bad happens!! So depressing

I'm sure there are exceptions to the rules. Although I understand some of the reasons for this law to be as it is.
