Timing chain on 1996 Pontiac Sunfire replacement

My 1996 Sunfire jumped time by several teeth. I replaced the chain but it won't start. It backfires through the intake. I went by the manual but still don't know if it's timed right or if something else is wrong. Where is the timing mark on the cam shaft gear?
