I cannot identify all of them, but I hear wrens and finches, robins and cardinals for sure. When you do not have music or television going it is AMAZING about the sounds of nature. From time to time I see some of them. Once we had a wren come in the house.

Enjoy those birds. We have them here all the time. A cuckoo once had a great time inside the house

I bet it is glorious there where you live Heather. I did hear a few here myself this morning early and opened the balcony to listen to them. I don't usually open as the allergies, but this morning I wanted to hear the birds to soothe me.

Allergies can be the pits. Try making some tea to drink from thyme leaves. It helps me a lot.

Mainly we only get Sparrows come over here. A Robin or the odd Wagtail will appear also but not very often. Storks and Hawks fly overhead a lot specially in the morning.

Do storks make a sound? I have not ever thought about that.

@GardenGerty Yes they make a sort of "clacking" noise. Storks are so lovely you must have a ton of them out there. They are very nervoius birds though and you have to be well hidden to be near to them.

Blue Jays can be annoying, always calling out "Thief" "thief".

It is amazing how many 'natural' sounds there are if all the man-made ones shut up for a while.

Yes, it is. Most of the time our house is pretty silent, so we can hear things like the birds.
