In this modern world arena, all the girls are getting education but once they become educated, parents tell them to get married n work only if the husband permits. So are the parents doing right?

That is the irony of girls. They have to live on the kindness of in-law's people. I think parents are helpless upto certain extent. They have to marry off daughters and can't demand like, please send our daughter for works.

@avi256 I agree with you completely. All thsoe things must discuss before marriage and both party agreed then there won't be any blames for each other.

I feel these things are discussed before marriage itself.Even in case of arrange marriages, this is one of the most important point of discussion. However, if people change their views post marriage, then its a different issue.

Education is primary right of everyone irrespective if caste creed and gender. Before being a wife or an daughter in law..she is a human being who has some aims and aspirations..so plz let them be educated to enlighten the upcoming generations of their family

Us girls need to keep going which every way we can. I could not find a job here in this Country and a good many million more even if they had a Master in all the right things. Sometimes its a question of luck to get a good job and to be able to stay in it. I had to give up mine to be able to get married here.

@Sreekala The problem was in getting a job and being able to keep it. I had a bit of freedom to work outside the house but not a lot either so I had to combine one with the other. Many people one year slept on beaches as they had no job or anywhere to go and this was how bad things got here.

No that's not right, all my cousins say women fight for equal rights this and that, and after studying so much they just sit at home without working, why to waste money of parents if they want to do that at last.Education is not cheaper these days

No that's really unlikely of them to ask their girls like that. Even I am educated and my parents never restricts me for working, instead they insist me on working. So that I shall be independent even after marriage.

Here the situation is totally different. Women can still have their careers after getting married. But actually it may be hard sometimes because women have to balance her career and family. It is the modern world now, women can have their own careers. They can have the options. It seems it is very outdated to follow parents' instructions when you are an adult already.

This mindset has changes a lot in last few years. Infact nowadays, husbands encourage wives to work and are ready to manage the household equally.

I think it's the cultural barrier or hurdle that you need to change.
