Lately I watched a movie called Butter. And I learned about the butter sculpture competition from this movie. That's so cool! I have never known that butter can make the vivid sculpture.

I wonder how it is possible because I wonder wouldn't the heat of the hands dissolve it.

I find it obscene to play with food. What will happen with the sculpture after the competition? It will be thrown away.

@MALUSE I agree that eating contests wastes more food in a bad way. And it is harmful for the candidates, too.

@youless Yes, that's also scandalous. The worst are eating contests in which the person wins who eats most hotdogs or whatever. They should be forbidden as long as there are hungry people in the world.

In Italy they are very popular and some Chefs carve real statues to decorates some plates. My cousin (who is a Chef) went to a special school for butter carving, I remember he made a wonderful Pegasus horse.

Perhaps butter is one of the main food there, and therefore such kind of art will develop. The practice charge will be high for it. Such a big butter is already very expensive, and you also need a cool room to practise so that the butter will not melt.

I haven't heard of sculpting with butter either. It seems there are lots of things that can be used for sculpting.

It is too bad that it will melt at last. If it is a marble, then it will keep forever

@JudyEv Sand and ice sculptures are very beautiful, too. I really feel sorry that they will be gone after some time.

They make the butter sculpture in a cool room. It will be cold inside all the time.
