Any good mysteries to read?

I am fresh out of books to read. Can anyone recommend good mystery books that you have personally read? 19th and 20th Century works are especially welcome.

Have you read the novels by Edgar Allan Poe? Those are all mysterious.

Yes of course. He literally founded the genre. He is also one of my favorite writers.

@leenigme I love him too, beautiful novels. What about Stephen King? He wrote some interesting mystery books.

There are so many good mysteries out there. Agatha Christie is definitely a good choice. PD James. Louise Penny. Just a few suggestions.

@responsiveme She's a Canadian mystery writer. I have been able to read two of her books. Definitely worth the read in my opinion.

For something more modern I have enjoyed all of the works of Chevy Stevens and Gillian Flynn - can't go wrong in my opinion

@leenigme Try any book by John Le Carre..They're mostly in the spy fiction genre..But they are really good..
