…And I really felt so sticky!

That was what I felt this early morning until this afternoon. It is so humid here in my place. Although I have the cloth diaper hanging in my shoulder, wiping my sweat cannot control the feeling of being sticky. I am increasing my water intake; so increased that I had loose motions this afternoon. But my sweat still comes. The insensible loss is getting more loss than the fluid gain with the water intake. Then the bath: the water for the bath is also lukewarm, so I use to stay longer in the bathroom, splashing water gives me the cooling effect. My sister jokes that when we have excessive perspiration, “we can get an extra job at the post office for our sweat to be used to stick the stamps on the envelopes”. Are you sticky this summer time?

Yes..I will for sure feel the same every summer and I can not stay at home long time..I go for a walk to a HALO HALO vendor and enjoy the sweet and refreshing shake with lots of different fruits in it..or I go to malls and do some window shopping..hehehe..

that is a good option when the climate is this hot. our neighbor will not sell halo-halo today because she is busy preparing the pork and chicken feet for her barbecue sales tonight (street foods).

It is hot over here too but I guess not as hot as it is in the Philippines. They usually say to keep yourself hydrated in summer but alas this can have negative effects too. Maybe using your ''fan'' will be the best thing to do

We haven't had any really warm temperatures yet, a day here and there that's warm, but right now it's fairly chilly out there this morning. My hands are cold and I'm drinking hot coffee.

that is good. hot drinks help us get warm; however, drinking cold water here cannot make myself cool but somehow i will not sweat more. the pores of my skin will also open and breathe.

i have not yet sweated so profusely like i am already bathed with perspiration. i think our temperature here is not yet that hot for us to experience that. if i also work under the sun, maybe i may sweat that profusely.

It has not gotten so hot here yet. Nor has the humidity been bad. I'm sure it will happen but so far it has not been bad and is even still in the 40's here at night some nights. I hope it stays mild this year. the weather is certainly strange. But I like it so far.

if indeed it turns so hot there, that could be the result of climate change.

Oh yes. When, i reached the jeepney stand and sit inside, my arms are sweaty. I have to wipe them with my hanky, before my seatmate will rub side arms with me.

usually our faucets and shower have cool water, but during the summer and when it's really hot and humid, the initial flow will be warm, then cool again. however, i did experience hot water from the faucet when i lived in a boarding house briefly because they had a water tank/water tower.

@hereandthere yes, because of the steel water tank, but when it is cold season, the water is also super cold.

that is the reason, maybe, why you have had hot or warm baths during summer because the water is saved in a water tank, which is also made of steel?

i think i am already accustomed to our climate here. i can adjust if it is so hot and humid. when`i enter a room where the AC is in a very cool thermostat, i shiver. i seem to be okay with the climate we have here.

really, kabsat? you crave for warm water for bath? me, i like to soak myself in running tap water, and this should not be too cold or warm, just enough to freshen up my body.

This is one time of the year when I do not monitor my salt intake too carefully . A certain amount of salt is necessary for body functions and it is lost when we sweat a lot.

yes, and not only sodium, but also chloride, potassium, and calcium. we have to mopnitor our food intake as well as our fluid intake so we will not have electrolyte imbalances this time of the year
