I went nuts at my mother-in law's reaction when my husband misbehaved with me, she said- "This happen, don't expect your husband to be like your father. This is not a big deal, men usually misbehave more than this."

Girl.. I gotta tell you. These mother-in-laws are hard to understand. They just want to tell you who the boss is in this house. But.. listen to me.. if your husband misbehaves with you again.. just tell him straightaway that you're not going to tolerate all this.

Ofcourse, I am not someone who will accept this behavior just for the sake of staying together.

That's bad but believe me this is what happens in most of the families in India. Women speak of man ill treating them but on the other hand the women itself doesn't treat another women with respect. Indian mother-in-laws wants only to prove their domination over daughter-in-laws. They fails to see that they were also once in the same position and what it had felt for them to be there.

They want us to go through d same humiliation as she herself did. And that too without any complain. Seriously unbelievable mindset.

Mothers will always stick up for their kids, usually, not always but usually. This is why there is so much contention with mother in laws and daughter in laws. I agree though, if a man does something wrong then call it.

As per me she should have advised him to behave properly with his better half, but the reaction was totally opposite.

I agree, women should be more thoughtful of the feelings of other women.

Good to hear that you feel this way... mother in laws expect us to go through the pain just because they did it too.

I agree with other members responded here... So what did your husband say to you about his misbehaving?

@Himanshi27 Maybe you should forgive him this time... at least he said sorry (even if he didn't mean it). You live with your parents in law?

He said sorry...but after seeing his behavior I wasn't in a mood to accept his sorry.

@Himanshi27 Case of tolerating the intolerable? Maybe its about time to teach your mother-in-law about women's right or human rights, but I doubt if she'll understand. From what i gathered from your post, she is a prison of tradition.

Traditions- are all in men's favour. No man keeps fast for her lady. It's only women who are bound in the name of traditions.

I am so grateful my husband doesn't speak with his mother-because of how she treated me and our children. Makes my life much easier.
