Day 250 Proverbs 22:28 Proverbs 22:28 Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set. Wherever you live, someone set up the boundaries for your property. They did so using survey equipment so they could get the measurements right and your property did not infringe on someone else’s. A map of the survey was also included in your property information when you bought your home, indicating the boundaries. If you want to know the boundaries of your property, you can also look it up online. When Israel was ready to enter the Promised Land, God determined where they would live and the dimensions of the land by the number of people in their tribe. Joshua 1:2 Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel. 3 Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses. 4 From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast. (KJV) Paul also indicated that God determined where we would live. Acts 17:26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; (KJV) Since God determines where we live, and sets our boundaries, Solomon said no one has the right to move any landmarks proving the boundaries God gave us. God alone changes our boundaries. Isaiah 54:2 Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes; 3 For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited. (KJV) We can ask God to change our boundaries. 1 Chronicles 4:10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou would bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou would keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested. God knows where you live. He sets the boundaries in your life. You can ask for a change in the boundaries, but you cannot move them yourself. Let’s pray: Father, you know where I live, you know my boundaries because you set them. Help me live in the boundaries you set for my life, or enlarge them so I can serve you better. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen. Copyright © 17 May 2017 by Valerie Routhieaux Image courtesy of Pixabay
