Sit Back and Enjoy a Long Ride

My last post featured a Mustang car so I thought I’d continue with the theme and show you this beautiful stretch Hummer that we saw in Ireland on our last visit. We leave for Ireland in about ten days and are looking forward to seeing our son and his wife. We have a motor-home there and will be spending some weeks in Ireland before putting the van on the ferry and heading for France. Then we’ll have a few stressful days getting used to driving on the ‘wrong’ side of the road again. We are thinking we’ll head south and perhaps go into Spain for a while before heading back to Ireland and probably selling the vehicle. We haven’t fully decided yet. Now we have it, it saves us a lot of money in accommodation and meals so it’s tempting to keep it for ‘one more trip’. Have you ever ridden in one of these 'stretch' cars? It's a lot of fun. There is just so much space in them.

@Lupita234 Probably not. I can't see any reason I would get to ride in one.. Unless I win some big travel prize.

The one we went in had a mini bar in the middle with glasses and champagne, soft lights and music - very swish.

I've never ridden in one, but I have ridden in a Rolls Royce. That was cool.

@teamfreak16 Kids here love to have a limo take them to their school balls. The drivers do a good trade at that time of the year. They're also popular for weddings.

A Rolls? That's real understated elegance isn't it? We picked up a Jag at a good price once and that was pretty special. I might post about it. It's probably worth a post.

Rode one twice - both parties that happened inside the stretch limo.

You should upload the pictures inside the stretch cars. This is the first picture I have seen of it anyway. :) You could lease out your vehicle to others instead of selling it..

That's an interesting travel plan you have. You need to accumulate pots of money for that - gor for it.

Because we bought a cheap motor- home in Ireland in 2015 and still have it our accommodation and food won't cost us nearly as much as might otherwise be the case. We couldn't afford to stay so long otherwise.

Ahhh, Ireland. I would love to go there one day, well, actually, to tell the truth I would just like to have an Irish man about, talking to me softly in that fabulous brogue... but you asked about cars, didn't you? I must learn to stay on-topic. No, I have not yet gone for a ride in one of those stretched out cars, but they DO look like fun. They seem to give off the feeling that one can just sit back and relax in comfort while the driver takes care of the rest. Perhaps one day.

That's about the feeling - and you can go off-topic anytime especially if it involves that wonderful Irish brogue.

Yes, roundabouts would be a bit tricky - as would reverse parking.

It's massive isn't it? The windows were dark so you couldn't see in but normally they are very plush inside. I'm looking forward to renewing acquaintance with our motor-home.
