Stepping on the currency is considered as a criminal offence in Thailand. The people of Thailand believe that feet are the dirtiest part of body and it must not put on the currency or coins contains an image of the king which offend his dignity. It is a crime and punishable with up to 15 years of imprisonment. Do you know about this law?

Nobody's head must be higher up than the King's in Thailand - who was a small man. This meant torture when foreign visitors came from countries where people are tall. Men from, say, Norway can be giants! I don't know if they moved on their knees to keep their heads below the King's or what kind of contortion they used.

@barnathegr8 It is crazy, why such a harsh punishment for something that may be an accident omg..And even if it is not an accident. People here in the USA burn the flag and get no punishment.

@TiarasOceanView Thais believe stepping in their currency contains an image of king means to offend the king! The law comes under "crimes violating majesty."
