Are people hypocrites?

I know I shouldn't judge people for this because I'm sure at some point in my life I've come across as sounding like a hypocrite. But I don't think I'm as bad as some people I know.
There's this one person I know who I feel is a bit hypercritical. This person is always fussing about how they're being lied to by their family. This person says they want honesty and people to be truthful to them. However, I also know that this person has told plenty of lies themselves and broken promises to their loved ones.
On the one hand I can understand this person being upset, however I feel they have no right to judge when they've done the exact thing that they're accusing their family of.
Do you know somebody whose a hypocrite? If so, why do you feel people behave this way?

I know plenty. As almost everyone has been or is one. (Same with being a liar). I myself have been both to an extent.

@Courtlynn In the past, I'm sure I like some people have been hypercritical, yet some people take it too far with the way they act.

@Nawsheen That's the worse feeling is being stabbed in the back by someone you thought you could trust.

@bunnybon7 I figured something must have happened in order for people to behave this way.

I find the majority of people are hypocrites especially those that run governments.

@JohnRoberts You make a good point. Politicians are the worst at being hypocrites.

@dramagirl26 It is not healthy to keep them. It is better to stay away from them.

@dramagirl26 They want to make people believe they are good and charitable, when in reality too many are selfish and do not care of the others.

@just4him In today's society, I think people are quick to judge others, but we should leave them alone and live our own lives.

I have seen this before to some people judge people and don't think of themselves

@chrissbergstrom Exactly! I think people have this mentality that they can do no wrong and judge others for their actions.

I am sure there are times that I have been a hypocrite, but sometimes I wonder if excess of hypocracy is a symptom of a larger problem such as a personality disorder

@FayeHazel I wonder that too. Maybe being overly hypocritical is a sign of bigger issues.
