There is an update on Facebook about his condition. He has no signal to update us himself. His brother Steven posted it. There is even a phone number if you feel called to give him a ring on the phone.
Before they start Dialysis they will have to do more tests. This was a sudden shut down of his kidneys.
If you know him personally, you will know his name and how to look for a post from his brother, I was going to copy and paste, but felt not everyone needs all the information. I will include a brief part of the post.
"Hey everybody. I'm Mike's "kid" brother. I know a lot of you good people are concerned about Mike so here's an update.
I went to see him last night. He is in the hospital in Vincennes IN. He said he would post updates himself but there is no phone signal in his room. Michael's kidneys have stopped working. The doctor's best guess is this was about three days ago. It wasn't a steady decline but they seemed to stop suddenly. Michael said it was like somebody turned off a switch. The doctors are still trying to discern what caused the shutdown before they decide on a course of treatment. They haven't performed dialysis yet, but I suspect it's right around the corner. His body isn't producing any (urine). It's not like there is a blockage or something preventing him form urinating, there is just no urine being produced."
I do not really expect comments and responses here, just wanted to let people know.

The last update I saw stated that he was finally able to pee and would be held for observation at this time. Also see posts by @jessicalynnt.

Well I certainly have been around enough to find that through his posts I feel as though he has become an online friend so I will put in a prayer for him and hope that everything will turn out alright. Thank you for the info.

He needs all our prayers. Yes, I have never met him in person, but have known him around eleven years and consider him a friend.

It was not difficult to locate that page and that of his sister's. Seems he is better and his kidneys have started functioning Looks like acute kidney failure which happens because of medicines he is taking.

There was one where he thought he was going and other updates. I felt this was the most up to date. Hope they figure it out soon.

I had just read a comment by him on another post that if he wasn't able to post updates that someone in his family would. I'm sure I'm not connected to him on facebook and it's nice of you to put in a report here for those of us who aren't since he is such a big part of the myLot community.

Good news. @JolietJake is supposed to come home tomorrow. Yes, he apparently did start to pee again. I'm hoping it was something simple they simply couldn't see with basic testing. He has his laptop with him and may even check in here. I don't know. But, he posted that he's good to go home according to the doctors. I hope they have an answer for what happened so that it can be avoided in the future.

Thanks for the update. I saw him post about being in the "white place". I would rather not be doing posts like this, but so many of us do care, and will want to see him at home.

The last update indicated he was able to urinate, and so will not be put on dialysis at this time. He will be held in the hospital for observation.

@manikarnika He said something about tomorrow when he finally posted on Facebook, but I am not sure if they will or not. I'm sure they'll make sure everything continues to work properly before setting him free.

I called him last night around 5 pm and we talked for a few minutes. He said since he'd been able to urinate it was sounding like they were leaning away from dialysis now! He was feeling better and eating dinner. I told him if I'd not heard from him via Facebook in a couple days I'd pester him again to see how he was. He's not out of the woods yet but it seemed like he might be on the right track.
