My husband and I are going to try to buy a house!

We're sick and tired of our apartment complex -- the landlords are really slum-lords; they don't take care of the property, there are roaches ranging in size all over the place, despite the fact I keep our place as clean as I possibly can with two cats and an energetic husky puppy. On top of that, I am now going to school full time and my husband has his hands full training to be a supervisor at KFC. Recently, our landlords decided to make it even more difficult on us and told us they'll no longer accept cash. We have to pay with cashier's check or money order from now on. And this has been the final straw.
So we've begun looking at houses and are going to call the bank Monday to see what options we have. Please wish us luck! ^.^

It is always best to have a place of your own for sure rather than renting in a place that is so bad.

@stasis I understand, I have had my share of the rest too. I will be happy to know you got something for good. I am still renting ..but it is not as bad as some I have endured.

In different countries, the form of payment has evolved. I just heard that in my city, soon they will not accept cheques.

I hope you get a good house. Your land lord sounds like they wanted you out so they are making a lot of fuss. Not that your a bad tenant but maybe because they want to do something else at your place.
