Children want reuslts here and now - What about the process to achieve them?

These days when the technology is very developed and many things that once took a lot of time today you can get them at the click of a button. As opposed to the past where to get certain things it would require a longer process and you had to go through to get them. It certainly affects the younger generation that has grown into it - our children. I see how today the children want results for their actions here and now - because into that they grew up. For example: I remember that as a child I would hear a song I love on the radio and want to get to know more of his/her songs and maybe buy that singer's record. I would have to travel to the city where there are record stores (40 minutes by bus), Wait in line to hear more songs from the record on the listening station (10 minutes) Listen to songs on a record in small samples(10 minutes) And only then wins to buy it if I like it. Nowadays it is enough to type on YouTube the name of the singer and with the click of a button to hear his songs. Sometimes the way/process to achieve a goal is more important and more teaches than the goal itself... isn't it?

Today children are really very lucky. I remember the time my grandfather was going at school. He would often tell us that after school he was helping his dad on the field. Life was very difficult at that time. And then he will complete his homework once the fieldwork was over. His teachers were not lenient as the ones we have nowadays. He was scared of his teachers. What i want to say is you feel more satisfied and contended when you actually achieve a goal despite all the difficulties you had.

@gilggg exactly. There is also what we call learning experience. We do learn and the difficulties only make us stronger

I'm agree with you. But sometimes even if you dont achieve the goal, the effort and the difficulties you handle with on your way to achieve is make you who you are and teach you the shape of your identity.

Lol its very true! I actually used to like the excitement of waiting til Saturday to go uptown to buy my favourite bands CD. I can remember being annoyed if we had to do more shopping as I'd just want to get home and play my new CD.

@gilggg Yep it's not the same though. Although I do like the fact you can download the songs you like rather than having to pay for the whole album.

From the experience of my life so far, I have won many things-(Mostly to know myself better and to crystallize my identity) because of the way and the process I went through when I tried to achieve my goals - even though I did not succeed in achieving them
