For those of you that have pets what do you think they do when they are home alone?

I have always been curious what my animal or animals did while I was away. I would come home and nothing seemed out of the ordinary. I really doubt they would have fixed things up if they messed something up.

Our cat is put out every night and when we go out. He has a bed in the garage and a little door to come and go. I always wonder what he does. As soon as I get up or come home I look for him. Sometimes he is curled up in his little bed. Sometimes he is at the back door howling to come in. One morning I looked into the garage and a Different cat was curled up in my cat's bed. I wonder where my cat slept!

@Hannihar he was at the back door crying to come in. But he does not prevent other cats from taking over his bed

@paigea I see that. Where do you think he goes? I used to tease my cat when she would go out and be out a long time that she must be visiting her boyfriend.

@Hannihar I have thought about this a lot. I can only assume sleep lol HAHA! It would be amazing if our pets could pitch in on the house chores though!

@VivaLaDani13 Yes, it would be nice if they could be taught to help.

How can you leave pets alone? Here we keep them under the care and custody of our neighbor or any other person.

People have to go out and do things. I don't leave my pets for days. I have to go out during the day at times. On our holidays and our Sabbath I am home. I would never abandon my Sophie. She has been through too much. If I were invited far away I will say I cannot come because I will not leave Sophie alone.

I think they enjoy the freedom of left untied. If tied than they have nothing to do.

anamika, I believe they hate being tied. When I had my dog and I took her on the bus I had to put the muzzle on her because that was the law. I hated doing it. Some people put the muzzles on because they like to eat garbage.

Mine rarely gets left alone! Maybe 2 hours maximum over a week. He goes to work with me he pretty much goes everywhere I go. If I'm going to be out longer than 2 hours I get someone to look after him as he just sits and whines when he's alone!

Essyjayd, That is cool that you can bring yours with you. I cannot. Sophie would get scared and run away and I cannot carry her in her cage. I am home alot so I am here for her. In the beginning when I had my dog she hated being left and would cry until the cat came along.

@Hannihar I am really lucky as I drive for a living so he just comes in the van with me. It's good you have a cat to keep your dog company. I'm considering getting another dog so mine has a friend to play with when I change jobs in a few months time.

@Hannihar Sadly my new job will be impossible to take him with me. Thankfully I will still be able to pop into the house to see him throughout the day. I think plenty of dogs enjoy having the house to themselves for a while. Mine is just too used to being with me all the time!
