Diary Saturday 20th May 2017 The weather looked great so I set off to Garstang, a village seven miles from Preston, which I a lovely quaint market town with lots of pubs closely clustered together and a very nice canal basin. The clouds and rain kicked in as I arrived and I ended up spending about thirty minutes in a bus shelter until it cleared up again. I walked round Garstang and a few other villages on the bus route too, Bilsborough, Barton, and Broughton, before coming home after a day too nice to be spoilt by a little inclement weather. Diary Sunday 21st May 2017 My only trip out today was to pay some bills that always have to go out on the 21st of each month. I also Spring-cleaned the flat and caught up with my writing and photo editing. Diary Monday 22nd May 2017 Still no feedback from the job interview I had for an agency trying to press-gang me into a warehousing role and pay for my own safety wear too. As their start date is next Monday, the Bank Holiday it may well not be happening now. They may have left word on my fate with my welfare advisor though not due to see him before June 1st. I started the process of gaining myself a doctor, which I ought to have done way before now. I got some form to fill in and return to the surgery tomorrow. I then set out to catch one of the few pub signs (The Withy Trees) not yet photographed by me in my home city of Preston itself. From Google map I knew it was some distance from the bus stop but I didn’t mind the walk. However when I got there I recognized a street nearby as one with buses that could have brought me much closer to it. I was at least able to get a much quicker journey home. Arthur Chappell

Which village is in the photo Arthur? It surely looks lovely and peaceful there by the river. Are those willows I spy in the photo? Good you had a nice ramble round. And great you found the buses running parallel to your route for the way home. Yes some days are just cleaning and paying bills. Hmm funny you have not heard yet from that place about the job, but yes that is a good while before you go to your officer. You'll no doubt get those pub signs later on sometime. I bet your place is lovely and clean now.

Thought it would be easier paying bills via online?

@YrNemo my creditors are dealing with heavy debts run up through my bank so giving them clues to my current account status is not a good idea

I was sorry to hear about the attack in Manchester which I'm pretty sure is your 'home' city or at least where your mother lives.

@JudyEv yes my mum lives there though she won't have been to the concert - I was born there though I now live forty miles away and still have many great friends in Manchester

That whole warehouse gig sounds kind of iffy to me.
