Do you talk to your pet?

May 22, 2017 1:39pm CST
Many people think they talk to their pets because they believe they understand what we mean... Others don't believe in any way that animals can understand us. Which team do you belong to? I'm part of the first team, and I talk to my dog ??every day.

I talked to Misty, scolded her, begged her, depending on the circumstances. I must say though that Misty was not my pet; she was a dear friend with a dogĀ“s furcoat.

Does not matter if they understand or not @TheInvisibleMan We have always spoken to our pets and think they know for sure what most of what we are saying. And who can prove us wrong?

I talk to my dog very often. He is the only one who never gets bored of me and is never annoyed whenever I talk to him. Whenever I am in trouble I like to talk to him because he listens silently without complaining

I have no pet but I talk to nearly all animals I meet. Cats often answer me.

Perhaps it seems silly, but I did talk to my pets when I had them in the past. I think they could understand me. They just didn't know how to reply to me Animals are very understanding.

Freya the Catblog Cat actually meow at each other. It began when she was a kitten and new to us. She hid behind the washing machine for a week, but would meow and reply if I meowed back If she is outside and missing all do is stand at the door and meow in a particular way and she replies until she gets to me. Of course the neighbours think I have.lost the plot.

I talk to my dog all the time! I know he only understands certain words but he likes me talking to him. If I am busy he will mess around looking for attention. If I start talking away to him he'll come and sit next to me and cuddle up as close as he can get.

I really believe that animals understand us maybe even more than we actually think. I was impressed once how a woman met a street dog and looked into its eyes. She ordered it to sit down and so it did. She ordered the dog to give her a paw and so it did. I knew the woman very well and knew the dog as belonging to no one (I am in Romania!)

Just think of how you would feel if no one ever talked to you. You'd feel left out and just horrid. Same with the critters. Plus some of my talk with the pups has meaning: I say, Go in the gate! and gesture toward the front gate. In go the pups. Easy on me. Leah dog brings me a kong ball when I'm slicing meat: her way of speaking: fill the kong ball, please. The cats know their names and for sure talk to me- I don't holler when a human speaks Spanish or German so why holler when a fur person speaks cat or dog??
