My stepson called his dad

For those of you who remember, back in October we went to my fiance's son's wedding in Ottawa, ON. It wad a lovely wedding. Her parents went all out. I am sure it cost them a small fortune. Everybody had a wonderful time. Well he called today and wanted to talk to his Dad. He was pretty upset. I guess his wife left him and filed for divorce after seven months of marriage. I couldn't beleive it. She said that she wasn't happy anymore. They were together three years before they got married. She is living with her parents. Apparently she met somebody else. It really is sad. I feel bad for him. He is devastated. They talked for quite sometime. He hasn't' told his mom yet because his mom thinks a lot of his wife and he felt he was letting her down. He wanted to talk to his Dad first. It really is a sad situation.

Oh my gosh. I recall you writing about this and it felt as if it was yesterday! It's been 7 months already - time flew by fast! I am sorry to hear. I cannot believe she met someone else. That is awful. It is going to be a painful recovery, but luckily he was able to speak to his dad.

@Happy2BeMe it's such a bummer to have a nice lovely wedding, with guest, family members loved ones and then call it quits without even trying to savage the marriage :(

@infatuatedbby I agree. Marriage is about compromises. It isn't always going to be easy but you have to work at it and it takes two people to make it work.

@Happy2BeMe Makes you wonder if she was cheating the whole time 7 months and she already found someone else.

@Tina30219 Hard to say but it could pretty well be. It is just funny to have such a big wedding when she had to have known she wasn't happy. Why bother? I am sure her parents must be impressed.

Oh I feel sorry for him- some people just want to give up the moment things are not perfect- She shouldn't be so impulsive and try to work it out. Sad situation.

@MarymargII I hope so. I guess it depends how badly they want it. Sad to think that it is easier to walk away then work on any problems.

It is so sad ..There are couples like that..I remember my causin got married only for 1 month and then annulled him because according to her they had a simple argument when unexpectedly her husband slapped her on the face..it was really horrible..so my auntie told her that if they can not fix a simple problem on their own, it is much better to get annulled than making each other suffer more..

If somebody hits you then it is time to walk away. Those situations don't get better.

Oh my goodness that is so heart breaking. =( I feel so sorry for him as well. That is terrible after only 7 months of marriage to leave like that. She should have known in those 3 years that she wasn't happy!

@Happy2BeMe Oh my goodness that's so selfish of her. =( I hope she never has children because she probably won't want the sacrifices that comes with parenting either.

You would think so. She said marriage wasn't what she thought it would be. She had no alone time. She went away with her friends every weekend while he stayed home alone.

That's a shame. I feel badly for the young couple, they hardly gave their marriage enough time before calling it quits. And the groom, he shouldn't feel ashamed to talk to his mother about it, she will only want to help. I remember when my brother's wife left him and the children, I was his leaning post, and I had a hard time convincing him that he couldn't go it alone and that he had to tell the rest of the family. In the end he was relieved that he did because they were able to help him more then he realized.

He has since talked to his mom. His mom and him are very close so she will help him through this. I wish they would have worked on their differences rather then walk away.
