Life Is Happening Again

Every time I think things will slow down it just keeps getting busier. A missionary couple we haven't seen in years is coming to California to visit on June 1. They have been in the US for health and family reasons for years now, but they still hope to return to Kenya, where they have spent a good part of their lives. Millard was a very close friend back in our UCLA days. We will be happy to see him and his wife, but getting the house in shape for visitors -- even just the family room and kitchen, will take a lot of time. I can't do a lot of physical stuff in one day and will have to spread the physical work out. I'm calling it exercise. We will have to put our friends in a motel the night of their visit since we have no available beds. As early as a couple of weeks after Millard leaves, there are tentative plans for one of my former Sunday School pupils who lives about 200 miles away to come visit. It's also been years since I've seen her. She was part of my life in the late 1960's and 1970's. She has always been very special to me. She was recently widowed after her husband died of a rare form of cancer. I want to clear a bed for her. She wants to help me get things more organized here, and I want to help her deal with this major change in her life. Fortunately, her children are all old enough so that she can leave them. I think only one still lives at home. I'm hoping we will have a few days together, but it will take some doing to get a bed clear. This will be a big change for me. I hardly ever have contact with friends offline anymore, and I rarely leave the house. I'm looking forward to renewing these relationships, but I'll be online even less than I am now. I need to get at least five more solid blog posts done before the middle of June. Do you have any major tasks to do or out-of-town visitors coming to see you any time soon?

No one comes here. But I do have some papers that need doing and I need help..we will see if I get any. If not fine, I will do the best I can. It will be nice for your friend to come visit.

Four nights sleep and we'll be on our way to Ireland so no visitors for us for a while. I'm sure you'll enjoy your time with your friends.

Yes. And I'll probably make some progress in getting my house less messy before they get here.
