Most children when they wear new clothes their first reaction is to rush to their dear ones with a question "How do I look?" The quick reaction of anyone would be to hug the child and tell her she looks pretty. But what if she does not look pretty. Will you say that to her? Will you say that and make the child cry?

I can't imagine which clothes will not suit children. They should look nice anyway. Children are already very adorable. So no matter what they were, they should still be the same nice.

Not everything suits a kid and then what happens. Do you tell them they do not look good?

The task of parents to tell always to their beloved child that she or he is the prettiest thing/It will help child to develop into sociable, self confident and succesful person.

I won't say that she does not look pretty but I will most likely give her suggestions on how to look better with the dress on.

What if she is all dressed up and ready and there is no time for that?

@allknowing I'm sure I'll make time to make my child look more presentable. If you can't make time for that, then you have a problem.

@allen0187 You may not have experienced this. They insist on a particular dress and do want to change and they expect a shower of compliments.

I agree with you. White lies in such circumstances are perfectly normal.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder - I will see beauty even if no one else sees it.

But there are situations when a dress may not suit the kid and she may not look good and this happens often.

No one with a heart would tell a child they don't look nice!

I would say you look nice in your new clothes and not pretty. If you say nice that will not saying that one is ugly or pretty, but, that one looks nice.
