Yell just before it touches the rafter

Part of our preparations for leaving for Ireland on Sunday was putting the caravan and bus under cover as best we could. Unfortunately we couldn’t fit the caravan into our big shed but we’ve managed to get most of it under a lean-to at the side.
I say most of it as the roof slopes down a little and as you might be able to see there is very little space between the shed rafters and the caravan roof. It was touch and go as to whether it would fit at all but luckily most of it is now under cover.
It was my job to stand on a high bit of ground out to the side and to yell loudly just before the rafter and the roof collided. I am proud to say I performed my role very well and Vince was able to stop at the appropriate moment! It's a bit tight though, isn't it?

Fits tightly for sure.
It reminds me of when my Dad bought a new combine. It was huge. So big in fact that he didn't have a garage to store it in. So he had a new implement shed constructed on the farm, complete with a workshop at one end and storage at the other end. After taking off the corn, which is the last crop to be harvested, he proudly opened the back door of the shed to pull the mammoth sized combine in to park it for the winter. And guess what.....it would not fit. No, he had to let air out of the huge tires to lower the height a bit so that he could drive it in. And after doing that he went back to the drawing board crunching his numbers trying to figure out how long he'd be able to keep that combine and when he'd need a replacement, and how he'd store that newer and bigger one.

@JudyEv He was such an intelligent man. The barn, which was huge, it housed cattle on the main floor, and chickens on the second floor and then had a hay mow on the top, he told a construction company what his design was, to have them remove the floors and open it all up. They did that, it took about a year to complete, and then they sided it for him. We asked for a section of one of the original barn beams, which my husband finished and put up as a mantel over our fireplace. But it still stands, and holds the large equipment. My brother has had to have another implement shed put up since then. It is so large that some people who drove by it thought that there was a Walmart store being built on the farm-it is REALLY large.

@TiarasOceanView Many carparks had height barriers too to try to keep out gypsy caravans but of course it stopped us getting in too.

A friend of mine had her husband hang a tennis ball from the ceiling of their garage so that it touches the windshield when she needs to stop. He did it so she'd not run into his tool shelf again.
I once rode on the ladder on the back of my (ex) boyfriend's RV to ensure that he could drive under an underpass. He had inches of room to spare. It was a (very slow) fun ride for me, and slightly illegal, which added to the allure.

We did but it was touch and go. It's a pity we can get it in the shed but we might be able to solve that problem when we get more time.

There was a plastic affair (air vent) that pokes up a few inches above the roof. It is just solid plastic and would have broken easily if it got knocked.

Looks like all you have is breathing room (as the saying goes). At least it's safe and secure while you travel off to Ireland

I'm wondering if a little bird might make a nest on it.
