A Nice Long Weekend Ahead

It's Memorial Day weekend here in the US and that means a long weekend for nearly everyone.
My daughter usually works on Friday but her boss wanted her to work yesterday figuring it would be slow today with so many people taking off early to start the weekend.
The lawn company always shows up on Thursdays but we had so much rain they put it off until today. I woke up to the sound of lawn mowers but the grass really needed to be cut so I'm not complaining.
However, with my daughter being home today and the lawn people here it totally threw me off and now I'm confused as to what day it is...half of me thinks it's Thursday and the other half thinks it's Saturday! See what happens when you get old 
I'm sure we'll do the traditional barbecue over the weekend even though we don't have any plans as of yet.
On Monday my granddaughter will be marching in the parade with her high school marching band so I'm hoping the weather cooperates as I'd really like to go.
Other than that, not much happening here and hope you all are doing something fun for this nice long weekend.

Nothing fun going on here this weekend. I will be babysitting and pet sitting.

I marched in a few parades way back when...I was on the drill team...that was my goal because I thought the boots they wore were so cool.....enjoy you weekend.

@Marilynda1225 Remember the old commercial, 'call for Phillip Morris' and the guy had a bellhop hat on? That's the kind of hats we wore. That was another reason to join LOL.

I marched in a few parades with the girl scouts and it was fun. Now I'm happy to be a spectator. It's funny how things like boots can entice us to join something (like your drill team)

Happy Memorial Day weekend. It's the official start of summer here, and we are not only having our lawn cut today, but my younger son and his fiancée over for a BBQ tomorrow. Our older son has to be at his inlaw's, so will come for a visit next weekend with the gang and again will have my younger son and his fiancée over. I love it when they are all here together!!!

As the family grows it's harder and harder to coordinate times when everyone can be together. I love it too when my whole family is here. Have a great weekend!

My granddaughter is doing quite well with her marching band. This is her 4th year (2 years in middle school and now 2 years in high school). She is very much interested in music and talks about becoming a music teacher.

Enjoy your holiday. Canada had theirs last weekend, We didn't do anything special but enjoyed the fireworks everywhere around us that Saturday night.

Our long weekend was last weekend. I've had little Sandra since Tuesday after school. She is here until next Tuesday evening. Keeping me busy.

Where do you get the energy? A youngster that age would wear me out but of course the years go by so fast so we have to enjoy them when we can.
