Crazy Pains, I hope This Will Not Hinder Me

I could go into lots of detail but it would take too long. I will sum it up by saying that when I was 12 years old, I had an accident with my left leg that required surgeries and plastic surgery. There was a patch of skin on my left thigh that became numb and has had slight tingles on rare occasions, but has mostly has been numb for 40 years, until today!!! So, here I am, now at age 53. I am in pre menopause. For nearly a year, I have not had a period until last week. Just when I thought it was over, yesterday it started up again and I had cramps all day yesterday. Today, I still have some cramps. I bend down in the bathroom earlier today and the worst pain occurs in my lower left back that shoots down into my left leg and all of a sudden makes the numb spot, tingle with pain!! Now, I can hardly bend down at all without my lower back hurting and that pain in the numb spot of my leg at the same time! The only way I can somewhat bend down is to bend my knees a lot when I bend down. Do any of you out there know anything about numb areas on the body , that all of a sudden have feelings after decades and decades? Does this happen to other people or am I an odd case? One of the things I thought, is that the painful tingles is that could they be compared to the phantom pains a person who has lost a limb experience. I say this because right next to the numb patch on my leg is a big indented scar. I hope all this is not the beginning of something that could hinder me from living my life to it's fullest. I don't want to become an invalid when I feel younger than I am.

@LeaPea2417 Welcome Anne. And I failed to answer your question..no I had not had these symptoms at all..I do have a scar that gets feely at times, in fact several scars, but nothing so severe as what you are saying.

Although I can't explain the pain in the area that is numb it almost sounds like you have sciatica which would explain the shooting pain down your leg. I hope its nothing serious but if it continues maybe see the doctor

@LeaPea2417 Sciatica the pain shoots down your butt also. When I had it a few years ago I couldn't walk for several weeks...if I took a few steps I screamed in pain. It took physical therapy - six week 3 times a week. If your insurance requires doc referral - then you need to see your doc to find out what this really is.

First I am NOT a doctor, now that is out of the way, With the lower back pain and the sudden feeling in the leg I am assuming that your back is out of place and is hitting a nerve going to that leg, so now you have feeling there that may stay or leave when your back is back into place. Old menopause, I know women that has had the same bleeding spells. As for me I was put into menopause after surgery so I take hormones to "feel" because without those I am one crazy .....thang

Let hope your doctor/specialists could tell you exactly the cause. Would they do a scan or a biopsy I wonder...
