Niume Revenue System Discontinued

I was about to log off from FB when I saw an article in my news feed about Niume discontinuing their revenue system. Went to read the article... It is in fact true. The article shared was the article from Niume Blog & Support. They can no longer pay their writers because of the decrease in advertising revenues and the increase in the cost of running the site. So after the month is over the revenue system is no more. There was nothing in the article about paying writers that have earnings in their account that have not been paid, whether the minimum $10 was reached or wasn't not. Doesn't seem like they will pay out anyone. I have less than three bucks to go to reach my first $10 and now I will never see that money. Writers can still continue to post there, but I am not sure that I want to. Views there are pretty low, and to stay there when there is no longer the option to earn and views are low seems crazy. I rather post elsewhere where I get more traffic/views, regardless if the other sites pay or not. I am very disappointed! Seems HubPages is the best site for earnings. They've been around for a long time, and it doesn't seem like they will go anywhere any time soon... Plus, they always pay me.

I did look at that site once but decided it was not for me. Sorry if you aren't going to see your money.

@lovebuglena It just seemed to me to be a lot of hassle for little reward.

@jaboUK It was easy to post there (for me anyway), though their editor wasn't that great in my opinion. But the views were pretty low since I joined. And then they dropped even lower since they changed their view counting model... And that was bugging me big time. Yeah, I joined there to try to earn something, and it upset me that I wasn't able to that, but what upset me more were the low views. What's the point of posting on there (or anywhere else for that matter) if views are low...? I want my work read and by a lot of people as I am sure others that post their work on websites want as well.

What made you decide that?

I never joined Niume. Many lotters have been telling about the site not paying the members now. It is a pity though. Many people spent a lot of time over there

I joined niume through a friend. She was there on the site (before they started paying writers) and loved it and invited me to join. It happened to be during the time they decided to start paying writers. I joined through her referral link. She got a buck from me after I made my first post and I got a buck as well. I liked the site, but I hated that the views were not high. And then they got even lower. I've never reached the $10 minimum, so can't say from personal experience whether they always paid their writers or not. I did hear though some people saying they had reached the minimum, but were never paid and that support never responded to them. And I heard there was one person that made a good amount of money (way more than $10), but when it was time to pay him his account got terminated... I wonder why that was. Did he violate something? Or did the site think he somehow manipulated the views...?

@Nawsheen Perhaps you are right. You never really know with this paying sites what you are going to get or what is going to happen.

I join more or less every new site...I'm a member of niume. Have a look around then decide it won't last so don't bother with it

I always try out a site I hear about. Can't say that it works for me every time.

It seems to me that HubPages is the best site for me so far in terms of earnings and views.

That's really a bad news about Niume.

I think they will try to come up with some way to give people earning opportunities on Niume according to their post. But I wonder what that will entail.

I think it's not fair to not pay writers what they had earned if minimum was not reached. It's not our fault they decided to stop paying writers. I would have gotten to that ten had they not discontinued their program.
