Best workout plan for a hardgainer

As a skinny dude like myself, I do plan to get big for some practical purpose. Yet I'm a type that will remain bony no matter how much I eat. I plan to workout, but what is the best workout plan for a hardgainer, AKA ectomorphs

I used to be so skinny in the past but the more I aged, the more I gained weight. Now that I'm a bit overweight, I'm having a hard time losing pounds.

As a sportsperson.. I would recommend you to jog daily.. And do pushups as much as you can daily.
