Is there a real solution to the affordable health care needed by us here in the USA?

I think the idea behind the Affordable Health Care Act was put forward to prevent the high cost of healthcare by greed and for profit organizations and the idea of having a pre-existing condition that would cause your premium to go up for the same coverage a healthy individual pays less than half is UNFAIR and just plain wrong. The idea that people continue to get sick and people don't seem to have all the best choices still needs to be fixed. I think there is room for improvement. Rather than condemn the Affordable Health Care in America, why not look at the way they do things in other free democracies in the world that provide healthcare for everyone, no matter what their health or age is, such as places in Northern Europe for instance? Canada and other places where Universal Health Care is a fact, not just an idea or a concept.

Eliminate insurance companies totally and institute national health--I am all for it--but i won't happen under Trump

@lookatdesktop But you know--insurance is so expensive--mine runs me over $700 a month and we make too much money to qualify for any subsidies--it is an ouch!

Yep. Not under Trump. He's got his Agenda and it is probably the only one that we all will experience under his rule.

This always makes me laugh even the term affordable.. If one does not want to die in the USA, then you better get your wallet out and fast.It is a fact. And even then with the incompetence of them, you are quite possibly still at risk of croaking after they have drained you of every penny.

Hospitals and clinics for the mass should be part of public service. When you put doctors and nurses and all healthcare professionals under the umbrella of civil service, you will cut down the cost of healthcare. The government can force price of medicine down, because when government is the single biggest buyer, the pharmaceutical companies have no bargaining power. In exchange for this, doctors and nurses will enjoy a certain level of protection, such as no lawsuit against them individually. The patients who are wrong can complain to the board to revoke their license, and get them dismissed, but not file a lawsuit to see multi-million dollars compensation. This will bring the cost of healthcare to less than half the cost. With the lower cost of healthcare, the cost of insurance will reduce as well.

I have read here that people should not have welfare and that they "willingly" have many kids so they should not be given anything. And that same person cried that his taxes would have to pay for those lazy people. I think that you should be more generous as citizens and forget taxes a bit for the health of all people.

There is way too much name calling of the very poor as if they want to remain on welfare. Just ask any poor person living on the street and they will tell you, "I used to be a manager at a big insurance company but lost my house from gambling debts and got into drinking and ended up on the streets."

@lookatdesktop I guess the part we should listen to is the part about ending on the streets. we should not throw the first stone.
