Do Your Remember The Dionne Quintuplets? Today is their birthday as they were born on May 28, 1934. I wasn't born then but later on I remember my Dad buying us a book full of photos of the Dionne Quintuplets. We were mesmerized by them. It was only years later that I learn how the doctor who delivered them and the Ontario government exploited them. It is so sad to read about this now. I have included 2 links for videos on YouTube. The second one made me cry. I hope that you will take the time to watch them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=caBXqaLgf8A

OH my goodness gracious me. I had a vague memory about them but that needed refreshing. How tragic that they were firstly put on show as if they were in a circus then finally returned to their parents and sexually abused. How horrific those poor kids. No wonder you cried. It was awful for them.

@marlina It is sickening Marlina. I can not understand how anyone could sexually assault a child robbing them of their innocence. It rips my heart out. The sad thing is they do not see it is wrong! Even with little babies. Of course its wrong its horrible!

All I ever knew about the Dionne babies is that they were quints, and I know this because my Gramma used to keep teaspoons in a glass sundae-shaped jar on her table and there was a spoon with a baby on it, and I can remember being told by my Gramma that it was one of those quintuplets.

Thanks for sharing that video. What a horrible life they had first being taken away from the family and then being abused by the parents. I don't remember much about them, I guess because they were before my time but I do remember seeing them in magazines and on the news once and a while. That Doctor who used them for money should have gone to jail.

Yes , the Ontario government took them aways from their parents and the Dr. who delivered them made a circus out of the whole thing and made millions with tourism and souvenirs.

@ridingbet No, the kids were normal. The government and the doctor did it for greed.

Someone in our family mentioned them during our childhood and it seems there was a documentary about things that happened to the family members. Amazing what humans will do at the expense of other humans, isn't it @Marlina

I do not remember the Dionne, but I have watched the video. What a terrible and sad story. They were prisoners of the doctor and never got a cent from the money he made exploiting them. Poor girls, that was not a life.

Those 5 sisters got taken advantage to the max. They did not have a happy life. I believe that 2 of them are still alive and live in Montreal.

I believe that as the "profiteers" made all kinds of goods and sold them for profits on the back of the Dionne quintuplets. Shameful!

That must have been heartbreaking for their parents to have them taken away from them. It is tragic the way they were exploited like that. I had never heard of them before now.
