Rough Early Morning But........

It Is nice to be back home but I almost had to take Tony back to "a" hospital. See, Tony got AFIB when he was trying to quit smoking last year, the patches made his heart race and flutter, he was on blood thinners but the oncologist took him off those because his blood was to thin. Till the surgery the heart rate was fine using a small dose of medication to keep it under control. That was the hold up at the hospital, but that is not why I almost went back to an E.R. the problem was he had not had a bowel movement in 4 days but was encouraged to eat solid foods for the last 3 days, but we ordered prune juice for 2 days and nothing happened. Just hours before the check out "Tony" asked for an enema and it did nothing. At home he just went to sleep, however, I stayed up and took a hot bath, started a new book and winded down. just before midnight I fell asleep. 3 am Tony woke me said he needed oxygen, I cut it on and set it low at 1 liter. Got him calm and went back to bed as he was drifting back to sleep in the recliner. 6:30 am he woke dying with his bowels and got me up, I got him an enema and a little while later he woke me again saying it did not work and I might have to take him to the E.R. Now I am tired of this foolishness and I went to the medicine stock and chose a delicious grape flavored bottles of Magnesium Citrate , he drank it. Then I watched him drink water after and I told him to slow down on that water, he puked, not much but still he puked and now he is in a panic. Heart rate up to 149. I get him calm and his heart rate back down, he leaned back in his recliner and he fell asleep, I went back to bed. Leaving the bedroom door open so I can hear him. Around noon he gets up and I hear him run to the bathroom. I stay in bed till 2 pm because I knew what I gave him worked, plus my body just would not wake up. He made his own breakfast, a blueberry yogurt. I gave him a later lunch of sugar free chocolate pudding and now he is sleeping. Sometimes men just need to listen to women about how to make the body get back to working, even the doctor said " women get up and go, heal faster than men." How was your morning?

well it could have been more serious than you thought.Maybe the bowels was compacted there.I am surprised that the ER did not do more on this. This is something not to fool around there. He also should drink a lot of water to help with his bowels.

I passed out in a restaurant this morning. They called an ambulance, took me to the hospital, but I'm just fine now. I've always heard if you go three days without a bowel movement you should go to the ER. Guys seem to wait until it's unbearable.

@andriaperry They aren't sure, but the only off thing about me they could find was my heart. A low rate or something.

My morning certainly doesn't compare to yours. I'm glad everything got worked out with Tony. We woke up in camp, ate breakfast with a beautiful view of the river, and then packed up for the trip home.

Usually hospitals wont' discharge a patient unless all bodily functions are working so I'm quite surprised Tony came home without having a BM. Glad you were able to help out his predicament and got things running smoothly again. Just the thought of going to the ER probably would have pushed you over the edge.

You know it did! I was thinking " now wait a minute!" They said he had bowel sounds and they were happy with sending an enema, I reckon they thought it would work. Plus the food there, he is not used to meat every meal, gravy?!?!?! NOOO we do that on a special occasion and I think every meat except a hamburger had gravy.

My day was not nearly as rough as yours. I just checked on the pulled pork in the crock pot, it should be done in about an hour so that is a sucess. I also made some peanut butter chocolate cake bars and since the pan is almost already gone, Id say they were a success too. I did some household stuff and have been trying to relax in between. Hopefully at next update i will have beat last months earnings, which isnt a big deal but it makes me happy.
