Back surgery for Anne on Tuesday

Not major back surgery, but it will require anesthesia which is kind of scary for seniors. She will have what is called a vertebra-plasty, where they are putting some cushioning "putty" around her L-3 vertebra.
We were scheduled to be there at 5:30 AM, but that was (thankfully) changed to 8:30. Assuming all goes well, we will be home sometime tomorrow afternoon.
Anne had something similar done several years ago in her upper spine and it worked well to relieve the pain there. We hope this procedure will be helpful too.

Anything to do with the spine for seniors is indeed frightening. I had my L1,L3 fractured 10 years ago along with 7 ribs,. So far so good. I am extremely careful. I do not socialise much that would require rushing around.

Oh I hope that all went well today! Yes, anesthesia is sometimes the scariest part of the procedure. I look forward to hearing that everything was great.

As back surgery goes, this one was a piece of cake. She slept well with no pain meds after 10 PM.
