@louievill You should give it a try if you find the semolina. There are a lot of different couscous prepared with various meat (or only vegetables like here). Some are sugared, most are spicy (do you know harissa ? It is a very strong mash of hot chilli used in couscous). The only meat that you will not find in a couscous is pork, because it is a Muslim dish.

I would call that a couscous of vegetables and not a soup. Couscous is a common dish in France. Personally I add the vegetables and meat with the juice on the semolina, and I add some raisins to the semolina, it gives it a better taste.
Can I ask you in what country you are living ?

What are you asking what we have heard of? I have never made vegetable soup that way.
