Not in agreement about Global Warming or Global Climate Change ?

Our days are numbered, from the day that we are born to the day we leave this world with our very last heartbeat, but in the middle of it all, it is a terrible thing to have to argue the pros and cons, who is right and who is wrong about Global Warming or Global Climate Change. The Liberals are saying it is real and the GOP is in denial and calling all Democrats liars. I hate this. I think the fact we argue about if this is real or a hoax, is worse between friends than the idea itself being true or false. You get what I am saying?

I just remember how awful the air was in the 40's and 50's and not even old enough to remember what the water we drank was like. Pollution is not something to laugh about or ignore and thankfully none of my children have procreated so I shouldn't care about clean air and water but I do. I think Trump is an idiot and imagine he is going to change his mind when enough call him an idiot to his face. Or not because he is an idiot.

The main problem with the United States of America is that the people don't have as much a say so in the events in Washington DC as they need to have. The leaders need to keep those at the top in check. No one is above the law and no one is without flaw. The time will come when a new and better president is elected and hopefully one day the issues we are dealing with will be met with more hindsight.

@PainsOnSlate , But in spite of all this I am staying here in Texas, Not going to Belize where I hear an expert on Global climate Change is spending his final years. Dallas is a nice place to live in the last days. I might have to deal with more mosquitoes and roaches but hey, they are all part of nature right?

@lookatdesktop this is not the first President that disappointed me but this is the first one who obviously has no brains and lacks the inteligence to run a country. Most in the past at least knew how to talk and listen, and I agree with you, they need to be stopped when they are bat crap crazy. The ice is melting, soon but not in my lifetime the US and all countries on the water are going to become much smaller.

Climate change is real and I cannot believe that there are still people who think this is all a hoax.

You must refer to the fact that you will withdraw from the Paris Agreement.I think the problem is that we shouldn't let benefit rule our heads. Here we have a saying ,"When the nest is overturned ,no egg stays unbroken."

@lookatdesktop HE'S a big mistake. I hope we can correct it soon but he's already done so much damage I'm afraid it will be too late for us.

Are those politicians so blind that they can't see the reality under their nose?

No, they simply do not think the way a scientist does. objective reasoning and years of personal education and research and and an intrinsic aptitude to do more for change.

Politicians promote the interests of big corporations who are also the biggest polluter of the environment. With Trump appointing a person who is anti-environment to the US Environmental Protection Agency, expect big business to further degrade the planet.

I think many or most corporations are on the side of the Paris Accord. Think about it. There are a lot of major players in the field of action against the possibility of human causation for the negative impact of climate change. But there will be many who just say, "All those Liberal T.V. Stations are liars" But I do not agree with this concept. I believe the truth is out there, if you can only read between the lines :
CEOs were fans because the global climate agreement helped their image and overseas business, while not imposing huge costs

@lookatdesktop _Most of those corporations who support staying in the Paris accord don't rely on traditional sources of energy or are innovative companies who have leaders like Elon Musk who believe and are heavily investing in alternative clean energy sources.

I guess the Republicans will know it's real when the polar icecaps melt and the earth gets covered with water. It really pissed me off when Trump withdrew from the French Emissions Accord (not sure about the name). What does he really think would be the worst thing that could happen from being a part of it! I'm all in if anyone wants to talk about our dear President!

It's got to be realized by everyone before anything real gets done to reverse the direction of GCC and GW. It is more than just a political thing it is about human survival on a planetary scale the likes of which the world has never seen before.

Let's see here, we've had three Category 5 hurricanes make landfall in less than three weeks so I think it's pretty much settled that climate change is real. I think we all owe it to future generations to do whatever we can to save the planet.

Though we can get carried away with the thought we have inherited this place for now, we also owe a duty to our future generations as the caretaker. Do what is right is my mantra and err on the safer side on this matter - siva

I know what you're saying. Really, though, climate change has never stopped. It is an eternal part of the cycle of the planet. The only real question is whether human activity in the form of burning fossil fuels is accelerating the change.

I agree. We can't be 100 percent certain that what we as humans are doing will have a negative impact on climate change. The fact that 5 previous ELEs have occurred on record, according to geological science, I figure the 6th ELE will put an end to our debates. Hopefully we will find ways to improve on air and water and land quality and learn ways to improve farming, agriculture, city planning, law and order, ways to improve the quality of life for all people on the earth, not just an elite few who seem to hold all the cards in the deck. We are running out of tables to play on.

Some politicians put their interest on top of everything, no matter if this is dangerous or can be a serious treat for the future generations.

Only one thing I am aware of; we are going overboard in the way we live. We should err on the safer side to leave a better world. Democracy and freedom should not lead to free for all - siva

I understand that we can not do anything but err on the side of making the planet a safer and better place for everyone. We are all in this thing together, like it or not. Thank you for sharing your comment.
